Gretta [10 days] | Hollidaysburg Newborn Photography

First of all, I have to just say how much I love my job.  I mean, seriously.  10 day old Gretta was just perfection!  She actually didn’t even cry at all (she did hang out awake for a bit, but then went back to her sweet sleepy self.)  But the part I love, besides snuggling all the sweet babies, is seeing the parents with their brand new life.  And first time parents….it’s that much more amazing!  I am so glad I had the honor of capturing Miss Gretta .

What to Wear | Spring 1

I definitely recommend spending time really thinking about the wardrobe for your family session; that doesn’t mean that you have to purchase new things for everyone, but you should think it through BEFORE the night before your session!  The easiest thing to do in a family is start with one person (maybe mom or daughter) and after choosing her outfit, choose pieces for the others that would look good if ONE person was actually wearing all the pieces of clothing.  Here is some inspiration for March!

C. Family | Hollidaysburg Family Photographer

I’ve been doing a lot of planning for my upcoming spring sessions and I thought back to this session from last spring.  It was absolutely one of my most favorite family sessions, from working with the family and boys (they were so so sweet) to the final images complete with budding spring flowers.  And I never blogged about it!  So here it is–the C family in Hollidaysburg last May.  I know that fall is usually the time everyone thinks about getting family pictures, but I think Spring should get more attention.  Isn’t it beautiful??

V. Family | Duncansville Maternity and Child Photographer

There is probably nothing more special than capturing those who mean the most to me; my baby sister is expecting her second daughter and my niece is turning three!  It was the perfect time to set up for some pictures (well, we didn’t have much time before my girls’ birthday and a Matilda Jane party that I HAD to go to), so we squeezed them in!  Whitney is expecting another little girl, and while I’m sure that part of both of us were hoping for a little boy to play with Chase, we just know she will be welcomed into the amazingly special cousin bond that the other three girls now share.  Mckenna didn’t despise me taking her photo like she did for her 2nd birthday, but I can’t say she loved it.  Even so, I think we were able to get a few great images that show her spunky little self!

five years of being a mommy

FINALLY!!!  I mean seriously, I think they thought this day would never come.  They have been waiting and waiting and waiting to celebrate turning FIVE!  We had a super fun party where they take gymnastics.  I was so happy with how all the decorations turned out.  Especially the bottle-cap necklace favors.  I found kits with the caps, ribbons, and sealing stickers on etsy and then just printed some cute gymnastics clip art on pink and orange backgrounds to make the inserts.  After gymnastics, our families came back home with us to celebrate with a second Lisa Becker banana cake (this one with candles since I forgot to take candles to gymnastics.)  It was a great day.  I just can’t believe how fast the five years I have had being a mom have gone by.  Happy 5th Birthday girls!
