So as the next stage of the Matilda Jane Clothing Photo Love contest, I received a dress and headband and a word: “funny” – to photograph. I was beyond excited to be selected to the round, but if you know me personally, you probably know this is my craziest time of year! I was so stressed about it!! On top of my schedule, I had the normal yucky Western PA weather to work around! I knew that most other photographers would have an adorable “scene” set up, but I also knew that I just didn’t have enough time for that. Soooo, I found three of my cutest most recent clients and styled them up!! They were so great especially since it was sprinkling the WHOLE time and pretty chilly! In the end, I was happy with the image I submitted (the image above) – it definitely is my style. The majority of clients at Elle Bee Photography choose to purchase some or all of their digital files for their own printing projects and archival purposes. In order to provide the best possible archival for my clients, I am now presenting digital files on a 2MB Flashdrive. If you are unfamiliar with Flashdrives (or USB drives), they simply open and are placed into the USB port on your computer. You can see in the photo above how to open the little tab on the flash drive. The photo below shows how to place it in your computer’s USB port.
Because of the larger width of the “credit card style” flash drives, if a computer’s USB port is recessed (which may be the case especially on older computers), this particular drive may not fit. It is important to check if your USB port is recessed before ordering digital files. Be sure to request a more traditional “thumb drive style” (as pictured below). These drives are just as flashy with silver finish and logo (so don’t feel like you are being left out!!)
I know you’ve heard me blog over and over about my favorite girls clothing company, Matilda Jane. Photographers nation-wide are drawn to MJC for styling their shoots and for dressing their own children. To show their love to photographers, Matilda Jane holds a Photo Love Contest. Nearly 1000 entries were submitted and I was chosen as one of the top 50 photographs! I am so excited and honored!! In the next round of the contest, I will need to submit a photo modeling a new dress that they have sent me and using a “theme” word they have provided. From there, a top 10 will be chosen by the home office, which will be posted for public voting in December. Yay!!! I can’t wait to get started!!! This is when I wish nice western PA weather and foliage lasted a wee bit longer!
